Prince Rogers Burial Ground (Somerset County)
Rogers was born in 1813 and enslaved to Cornelius Van Horn. His father is listed as Samuel Rogers (Ancestry Ancestry.com. New Jersey, U.S., Marriage Records, 1670-1965 [database on-line]. Lehi, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2016). He was freed at age 25. He married and lived out the rest of his life as a farm laborer.

He died at 76 years of age and is buried in a plot off Foothill Road in Bridgewater. His wife, Dina Hoagland is also buried there (Dinah Rogers (unknown-1907) – Find a Grave Memorial) as well as other enslaved people who bear the surnames of prominent families from the area, such as Vandeveer and Van Zandt.
